Auto Technical Participates in #GivingTuesday
Local Nonprofit Seeks Car Donations During Season of Giving
November 18, 2014 (ST. PAUL)—As part of #GivingTuesday, which takes place December 2, 2014, Auto Technical, Inc. strives to generate additional car donations to continue helping families in need receive reliable transportation. First announced in October 2012, Giving Tuesday, which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, encourages consumers to support their favorite charities during the “season of giving.”
This is the first year Auto Technical will participate in Giving Tuesday. While Giving Tuesday technically takes place on one specific day, Auto Technical will harness this international day of giving to request car donations throughout the entire holiday season. The organization is asking donors to schedule their car pickups in advance, after which Auto Technical’s executive director will bring a trailer to their home or business to haul their vehicle back to the shop.
Since 1994, Auto Technical has received hundreds of donated vehicles, enabling the organization to help survivors of economic hardship, domestic violence, job loss and torture receive refurbished vehicles so they can enjoy higher quality of life.
As with thousands of other non-profit organizations around the world, Auto Technical will work to generate enthusiasm about its mission while accepting car donations throughout the holiday season. Those who donate cars to Auto Technical are guaranteed higher tax valuations because the organization refurbishes the vehicles in first-class condition before redistributing back into the community.
“We’re thrilled about participating in Giving Tuesday this year,” says Auto Technical founder and executive director Richard Johnson. “At Auto Technical, we’re always looking for new ways to keep our community engaged and offer ways they can support our cause.”
How to Donate Vehicles
Anyone who wants to donate a vehicle to Auto Technical as part of its Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign can do so by calling Executive Director Richard Johnson at 612-919-5526.
The vehicle can be in running condition and “old clunkers” are welcome.
